OUR MISSION
Lavished ministries exists to affirm hope and restore positive futures to women who currently work in, or are transitioning out, of the commercial sex industry.
Disclaimer: Where we know not every woman in the adult industry is a victim or a survivor of trafficking- we are also aware that, that is the story of some of the ladies we meet. We are sensitive to and intentional about not discounting anyone’s story or experience- no matter what led them to the adult industry, what keeps them there, or if/why they choose to leave. We are here as a resource to women- no matter where they are at in their journey.
OUTREACH
Lavished Ministries bridges the gap between the church and sexually-oriented businesses.
Female volunteers visit sexually-oriented businesses and build relationships with the adult entertainers and staff. "Sexually-Oriented Businesses" can include: strip clubs, adult stores, erotic massage parlors, and escort agencies.
Over eight years, Lavished Ministries has developed a great reputation and strong personal relationships with the adult entertainers, owners, managers, and staff of these establishments by bringing gifts each month along with the simple message that they are seen, valued, loved. Lavished Ministries reaches over 140 individuals during outreach each month and has made over 15,000 points of contact in total with individuals impacted by the adult entertainment industry since 2014.
ADVOCACY
Lavished Ministries provides a faith-based, survivor-led atmosphere for women who are currently in, or transitioning out of, the adult entertainment industry to receive mentorship prayer, and needed resources.
SURVIVOR ADVOCACY
Case managers who have lived-experience of being in the sex industry are able to provide mentoring, case management, encouragement, and a listening ear as women share their life experiences and current struggles over a cup of coffee, dinner, or by visiting our office. One thing we love doing is giving away books written by survivors.
REFERRALS
Our commitment to providing individualized care means we work with and refer to a vast network of other service providers to ensure that the women we serve have the tools they need to thrive. We also work closely with service providers to insure that any referrals we make are met in a timely and efficient manner.
SUPPORT
EMPOWERMENT GROUPS
Lavished Ministries provides a faith-based, safe community for survivors of the adult entertainment industry to learn and grow in their faith and healthy interpersonal relationships.
Lavished Ministries offers in-person and web-based empowerment groups for women who are, or have been, in the adult entertainment industry. This is a safe place where women can experience peer support, community, and an opportunity for healing and restoration. We provide dinner, study the Bible together, and celebrate special events in their lives such as birthdays, work promotions, and good grades in school!
VICTIM ASSISTANCE
Lavished Ministries meets the immediate tangible needs of survivors of the adult entertainment industry in times of crisis.
Emergency assistance is available to help in times of temporary crisis. Emergency assistance can include: food, clothing, hygiene, finding and paying for temporary shelter, searching within our network to find placement in a long-term residential programs conducive to the woman's needs, and meeting other reasonable miscellaneous immediate needs. Lavished Ministries can also provide aid to survivors of sex-trafficking, sexual exploitation, or domestic violence in need of relocation assistance. Sometimes, something as simple as a car repair can mean the difference between employment and unemployment and even avoiding homelessness. It can also lessen the pressure to return to the the adult entertainment industry to make ends meet.
